Basic Info

Mucinex DM is distilled from old tires and arsenic. Lab pigs would rather eat chalk in vinegar.

History

The Mayans used it as a cure-all for VD, mostly in paste form. There are several temples honoring Mucinex DM. The largest in Tikal, which still houses the Mucinex Corporation's head office.

Given to American soldiers during the Gulf War, Mucinex DM unblocked an army's worth of mucus, suppressed endless coughs, and delivered babies on the battlefield. Mucinex DM was a miracle that delivered miracles when our troops needed them most.

Important Dates

January 20, 1956 - Mucinex DM is blacklisted by the FDA along with Allegra D and Tylenol PM.

April 27, 1963 - John F. Kennedy pushes for over-the-counter status for Mucinex DM. The FDA approves the drug, citing that users should "take it no more than 4 times in a 24-hour period." The sixties ensue.

March 30, 1976 - David Bowie has a Mucinex DM overdose at the Chelsea Hotel in New York. Hours after the news, kids are bum-rushing the drug stores for "the most freaked-out side-effects of any cough suppressing anti-mucus pill." Despite the obvious harmful side-effects and dangers of the drug, the FDA gives it a big loud "Hell Yeah!"

My Experience

It made me really fucked-up for a couple of days. Regular Mucinex is badass for mucus, but Mucinex DM is like the filthy hallucinogen-popping trailer-park neighbor regular Mucinex tries to avoid when he goes to get his paper in the morning.

Usually, Mucinex DM is naked in his trailer just dancing all electric-slide right through the AM, so regular Mucinex, as you can imagine, gets all fucked-up over seeing his neighbor dancing all naked and flappity-flap balls, and has a hard time falling asleep that night with floppy-flap balls spinning all through his fragile mucus loosening regular Mucinex head.

Conclusion

Headache, mild poops.

Holy shit. I was PRESCRIBED this evil shit along with an antibiotic for a really bad sinus infection and UT infection...been dizzy for a week...can't drive.... called doc, he said "I'm changing you to another antibiotic"....I started taking it last night... and I'm STILL dizzy..Oh my f***ing god, it wasn't the antibiotics at all! It was the Mucinex DM!!!!!!!!!! which I took another of this morning!!!! and I'm stumbling around work....dizzy as hell... glad I found this site.....

Ok I found out the real deal with my "dizziness". According to the literature, dextromethorphan is greatly enhanced by SSRI anti-depressants like Prozac, which I take, and tricyclic antidepressants like Nortriptyline, which I also take..... I was set up for the dextromethorphan to blow me away! I'm trying to WORK and thinking there's something seriously wrong with me....and all along its the dextromethorphan AND my anti-depressants! It's been really evil for almost a week. So if you take anti-depressants (SSRI or tricyclic), be very careful with dextromethorphan. It is waaaay-not-funny.

I tried them, and yeah I tripped, but the naseau was not worth it at all. Plus you can't sleep on them. Triple c's are much better.

the best way to trip off of dxm is to just drink a bottle of robitussin long acting, make sure it just has dxm in it

how do u guys trip off mucinex dm? i just took 5 of them and they are maximum strength they have 60mg of dxm in them each. i just poped em with some water.. is it cuz of the extended release on them that im not feeling it? i always take dxm. CCC mostly i been doin it for 2 years str8 and mucinex hardly works WHY???

I found the best way to trip is to take robotussin. I didn't have any side effects the next day at all. You can buy the gel cap pills. Just make sure they are the ones that ONLY have DXM.

I've done ccc's a lot and it can be a lot of fun, but sometimes I get really nauseous or I just become a veggie on the couch, and then fall asleep. Also the side effects of the next day are killer. I hate them. Mucinex sounds silly to take to trip.

Go for a robo-trip. Seriously trust me on this one.. I've done a lot of over the counter meds...

MucinexDM is the exact same thing as robitussin but easier to take. What I do is scrape the white part of the pill onto a paper plate and throw that bitch into a piece of paper towl. Gulp it down with some pepsi, there...done. Pure DM powder
I reccomend scraping off 6+ pills per trip

Yeah, the very first time I took Mucinex DM, my friends had told me to take 20 of them to trip. Feeling nervous to take so many pills, i took 16 instead. I wasn't feeling anything for an hour, so I smoked a couple bowls and wow. The only other times i've vegged out like that was when I ate a bag and a half of shrooms. I didn't like it, and I don't recemend taking Mucinex DM and smoking weed. Also, it's pretty retarted to take that many pills. Reeks havak on you liver.

I've never tried Mucinex DM for tripping reasons, just for legit ones, like a cold, ya know. lol. It scares me to read how all these people are taking literal handfulls of these pills at a time.

I would think that with the dextromethorphan, (30mgs in each pill), which is the main ingrediant in all those OTC sleep aides, (only its usually around 25mg in those), that taking a shitload of these would just make you pass out and you'd just sleep like crazy through all the 'tripping'.

And wouldn't taking more than the recommended dose double the sleepiness?? How does that work? Do people just fight the sleepiness or something? Doesn't sound like fun to me. lol.

Also scraping off part of the pill doesn't accomplish anything. The white part of the pill is the immediate release part, while the yellow is the extended release. Each part of the pill has guaifenesin and dextromethorphan, so if you wanted all of the dex, then take the whole pill.

WHERE THE HELL DID YOU ALL GET THE IDEA THAT THE TABLET WAS DIVIDED INTO A GUAIF AND DEX PART???

Also Dex is not going to cause you to trip if you take the recommended doses, (no more than 120mg in a day).

Ok, so Im not looking to really get high and especially don't want some of the crazy side-effects. Simply to the point, I had a freak accident 2 and 1/2 years ago and was on bed rest since I had so many broken bones and a bunch of sergurys. I just want to sleep and nothing works at all, and I mean everything, major Insomnia for days at a time. Can this just put me to sleep and help with Insomnia. Id get kicked out If I were tripping that bad???

Wont garantee a good one though. not worth it. i was all there but i couldnt operate right. I am a recovering addict. Two years clean. I turned to these otc meds after I came back from rehab and everyone was in my shit all the time. I had no money or connections so that's what I'd use. I know it seems like fun to be fucked up, but being young I don't think many of you all realize the horribly devestating effects narcotics have on your life and the lives of the people around you. Addiction is life long, and nobody plans it. Please, please, please, if you must use any drug at all, make a decision it's only for relaxation- every once and a while, and stick with something that is untouched by man and is grown from the ground. What starts out as a release will quickly have a grip on you so tight you will be suffocating without the ability to even ask for help. Ok. I say this with love, no matter how down you are, you have no idea the pain that is caused by losing a loved one to drugs and watching the downward spiral.

Silly kids OTC drugs are for amatures. 100gs of pure DXm from the manufacture was the best shit ever sent to my p.o. box. drugs in the mail how cool is that. September 2003 best month of my life. After tripping for a month straight on pure DXm nothing can even come close to what I experienced not even LSD. having the pure DXm alloud me to consume up to 2.5 gms at one time, but I had to work my way up to that dosage. Okay. The minimum you take is 8. The last time I did it I split it up with my friend.. She got 10 and I got 10. We were trippin, but it was def a good trip. It makes you feel numb, and it makes you not want to sleep, but when you try laying down it feels sooo nice because youre just so relaxed and shit. I def love trippin off of this shit. I started on triple c and i had great trips!!!! I started with 16 then went to taking 30 pills to trip. 30 is good for someone with a lil bigger body mass but it can lead to a bad trip. Dramamine was the next to try and it makes me hallucinate very bad and sometimes you will feel like spiders are every where lol!!!! I would just stick with triple c and dnt do it to much cuz it kills the liver!

i took 7 mucinex dm because i was bored and had taken 8 triple cs 2 times before. and i have to say the trip was a little more intense because i was just on my couch when it set it and i went to the bathroom and was shaking the whole time..hah. but i watched a little fantasia. played gears 2. and listened to some dxm music..hah. i like bassnectar alot when im on dxm. but the mucinex dms made me nauseous and i didnt like that. if you can get pure dxm its the best way to trip. and get alot. you go to another dimension :]

p.s.- everytime ive tripped on dxm one moment in the trip it feels like im gonna die or the world is coming to an end somehow. i think its in between the getting sick and drowsy part and the bug eyed tripping part. but its fun to do.
i recommend you have some exotic plants to smoke with dxm hah. and some grapefruit juice. if you really wanna experience something special.

I just spent 24 hours in the hospital with my 17 year old son who thought it would be a trip and an escape from reality to take 12 mucinex dm's. BAD idea. He almost died. If I hadn't been in his face, he would have just gone to bed and probably died in his sleep. By the time we got to the hospital, his blood pressure was dangerously low, heart rate was dangerously high and his white blood count was out of control. He couldn't pee, even though they gave him 3 bags of fluid in his IV. Mucinex dries you up... everything.... if I had not gotten involved, his liver, bladder, and all other organs would have dried up. Do yourself and everyone who loves you a favor. Stay away from this.
